HTC One X, One V Launched in Indonesia

Dubbed the fastest Android phone to date, the HTC One X smartphone was launched in Indonesia last week. Priced at IDR 6.599 million (around US$ 717), the long awaited device was announced together with the HTC One V. The smartphone, coming in White Polar and Glamour Grey colors, features an 8 megapixel camera complemented with Image Sense feature, which lets the camera capture images in less than one second. Even the camera sound sounds authentic — it comes from Beats Audio Technology.

Serious competition with the iPhone 4S?

These are two key features that many observers say the HTC One X can compete seriously with Apple iPhone 4S. Aside from that, the lens can auto-focus pretty fast — within 0.2 seconds. For continuous shooting, the smartphone offers four frames per second, up to 100 frames maximum.

Powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and with 1GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, the HTC One X comes shipped with the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It features a minimalist interface, with HTC Sense UI 4.0, NFC3, Bluetooth 4.0, and Super LCD2 4.7-inch capacitive touch screen, all packed in a polycarbonate case weighing 130 grams and measuring 8.9 mm thin.

HTC also highlighted their acclaimed post-purchase service guarantee, where HTC says they’re the only major smartphone manufacturer with a pick-up and drop-off service without any cost to the customer. No information is revealed about the service coverage area at this time, though.

HTC One V

Since firstly introduced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona a few months ago, One X has been HTC’s main focus. However, the HTC One V is also a serious contender in the mid-range market. This model offers a 1 GHz single-core processor with 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage (with microSD support up to 32 GB). Multimedia-wise, the One V features a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and 3.7-inch touchscreen. The smartphone comes in Jupiter Rock color. It also runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has camera sound features like with the One X.

The HTC One X will be available in the market  in the next two weeks, while One V is already for sale with a retail price of IDR 2.999 million (US$ 326). Both prices will apply to pre-order as well as actual purchase. “Those who want to buy Dr Dre Beats headset or earphone can purchase it separately,” said HTC Country Manager for Indonesia Agus Sugiharto in the launch. A side note: the headset alone could cost us around US$ 220.
