First Looks: Sony Xperia Sola Android Smartphone

Sony sent us a review unit of one of their latest smartphones, the Sony Xperia Sola. The Xperia Sola is a mid-range Android smartphone running Gingerbread, and featuring some of Sony’s proprietary multimedia technologies like the Bravia Engine and xLOUD.

Another feature that Sony is highlighting in the Sola is its floating touch technology, which senses hovering motions above the touchscreen, so that users can actually manipulate on-screen elements without having to touch the screen itself.

We’ll be posting our thoughts on the Xperia Sola soon. So far, after a day playing with the phone, I can say the Xperia Sola is a capable mid-range smartphone that offers excellent multimedia features for the price.
