Weibo’s latest fitness fad: The ‘collarbone challenge’

Oh dear. Just when the countless pictures of people reaching around their back to touch their bellybuttons were beginning to fade from memory, weight-obsessed Chinese people have found another way to test how thin they are: the collarbone challenge.
Weibo users are posting images of themselves with coins balanced on their collar bones, the idea being that the more coins you can balance, the fitter, thinner and sexier you are. The main rule is that the coins must stand up, according to China’s People’s Daily.
The general consensus seems to be that the collarbone challenge is easier than the bellybutton challenge, in case you were wondering. And some people are taking it a step further by putting things that are not actually coins on their collar bones.
The trend is already pretty popular, even spilling over onto Weibo’s Western counterpart Twitter.
