Level35 leverage AI in the Project Management space

OneViewPPM was born out of a need to do things better. Delivering project change and realizing benefits takes more than just a simple software tool. Experience gained over years of consulting has allowed the team at Level35 to build a product that gives any organization the ability to realize benefits from project portfolio management (PPM) change.
Level35’s focus on data reuse and quality assists with the development of organizational change. This is manifest in efficient project meetings, project control boards (PCBs) that make the right decisions, governance that actually governs and benefits that are realized.
OneViewPPM is a cloud-based project portfolio management platform that streamlines data collection, collaboration and reporting for large-scale projects or programs of work.
Using the power of the IBM Cloud, Level35’s flagship product utilizes Watson to analyze the impact and relevance of project managers’ reports. This platform is driven by the Watson Tone Analyzer Service, which evaluates the tone of status reports written by project managers. Evaluated data is processed instantly by Level35’s propriety algorithms to determine a project’s ‘sentiment’ and flags can be set to trigger when a project may be on the verge of crisis.
As the enterprise and governmental bodies move towards large portfolios of small, agile projects, it is increasingly challenging to keep abreast of growing volumes of project reports in order to ensure complex programs stay on track. By using Watson on the IBM Cloud, OneViewPPM’s insights have already helped several major customers’ project managers write more effective reports in less time, allowing them to focus on overall project health.
“With Watson, we’ve been able to positively disrupt the very fundamentals of project management in a way that we never imagined when we began building OneViewPPM,” said James Gumley, co-founder and Managing Director of Level35. “A typical project office manager may have to consume over 100 reports a week, a burden we had already tackled by streamlining data gathering and input processes for project managers. By making reports clear and concise to meet the needs of many stakeholders, you strengthen collaboration, streamline workflows, and take out many of the miscommunications which can frustrate a project’s timely progress.”
“Cognitive computing opens the door to rigorous analysis and optimisation of processes that are inherently human in nature – from writing reports to gathering data and negotiating between multiple stakeholder deadlines,” said Gumley, “and we believe that OneViewPPM’s first-mover advantage in this space will translate into demand from organizations all over the world. Working on IBM Cloud gives us the flexibility to quickly achieve almost unlimited scale.”
“IBM named Level35 one of its top 5 finalists in its Global Entrepreneur Program in 2015, and its world-first approach to combining project management with cognitive computing is already making waves in the Australian public sector,” said Kerry Purcell, Country General Manager, IBM Australia & New Zealand. “We’re excited to continue supporting Level35 with our own world-class cognitive and cloud services as it goes from ‘born-in-the-cloud’ startup to a major-league software contender in its own right.”
