Why mid-sized ANZ businesses are betting on DXC Technology to drive digital transformation
Mid-sized businesses in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) are keen on pursuing digital transformation this year. Not just because their governments are pushing it but because it’s critical to their competitiveness in the global market.
To be fair, digital transformation has been on the agenda for quite a while now, and business leaders have taken steps to add digital capabilities to their organisation. What sets those that succeed apart from those that struggle with digital transformation initiatives is simply expertise and scale.
Even the largest of corporations require the support of experienced consultants to capture the synergies — and companies such as DXC Technology provide the knowledge and expertise needed to maximise the ROIs from their digital projects.
In the coming months, however, the digital transformation opportunity is greatest for mid-sized firms in the ANZ.
According to a study conducted by DXC Technology and research partner Telsyte, these organisations currently feel most disrupted by digital, but they also have several advantages when it comes to pursuing a digital transformation initiative.
The study also found that organisations with between 50 and 1,999 employees in Australia are boosting IT and tech budgets to respond to the digital challenge.
Moving to the cloud is key to digital transformation
Organisations creating a blueprint of their digital transformation agenda often find that moving to the cloud is a critical step to getting started — the advantages it offers in terms of mobility, agility, and flexibility are quite important to boosting competitiveness.
This need to move to the cloud is also something Telsyte’s report has identified.
According to their analysts, cloud computing is a “key enabler that allows mid-market firms to exploit their agility advantages over their competitors”.
However, Telsyte’s mid-market cloud maturity model for Australia shows that less than 1 in 5 (18 percent) are in production or have mature cloud computing practices, with a further 51 percent in initial or test and development stages, which includes pilot programs.
Moving to the cloud provides significant benefits and advantages such as reducing ongoing overall costs which includes infrastructure and maintenance, simpler licensing, and better security and application performance.
Unfortunately, the transition isn’t easy for most mid-sized businesses, but DXC Technology understands what they need to accelerate their journey to the cloud.
Scaling up unlocks the value in digital transformation
Organisations looking to digitally transform themselves often find that they’ve got exciting and innovative ideas and can push through to the pilot phase.
Scaling up those projects, however, is another ballgame.
Legacy infrastructure and inflexible applications created in the past are among the top challenges when it comes to scaling up and integrating new, digital-first applications — and it’s exactly why companies such as DXC Technology are able to provide support to such companies.
