Collaboration to push adoption of AI, big data for Vietnamese firms

  • SAS has partnered with Vietnam’s TMA Solutions to bring AI and data analytics skills and training to Vietnam’s enterprises

US software analytics firm SAS is committed to driving enterprise-level solutions for firms in Vietnam by making use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics, and to that end is teaming up with local partner TMA Solutions.

The partnership will be built around SAS’s analytics platform SAS Viya, which harnesses the raw power of data from discovery to the deployment of fully fleshed out full analytics models. Relying on SAS Viya to crunch the data, both SAS and TMA will join forces to drive AI adoption, with a specific focus on machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing (NLP).

For its part, TMA Solutions will provide localized, solution-based system design consulting services, and as the local consulting and training partner, will also help to develop prototypes as well as project management across a lengthy part of the dataset value chain – from developing a business concept through to implementation and maintenance.

“With Vietnam’s rapid digital transformation, a growing tech-savvy population, and the huge volumes of data sets generated by businesses in the country, there is vast potential for growth of analytics,” commented Shyam Baddepudi, head of Alliances and Channels in Asia Pacific at SAS.

“Analytics can help provide insights to deliver business value, empowering better decisions for companies across sectors in manufacturing, banking, and insurance, retail and more,” he added, further illustrating how a solid data analytics platform is the key to enabling other technologies across a range of specializations.

Hence it’s understandable why IDC forecasts suggest that the big data analytics solutions market will be worth US$189.1 billion this year, and see double-digit annual growth for the next few years up to 2022.

Headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, TMA Solutions has established itself over the years as a leading software specialist in Vietnam, backed by core, strategic vendor partnerships with some of the biggest software and services providers including SAS, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft.

“Through this partnership, we are able to leverage on the expertise of SAS to provide Vietnamese businesses the ability to leverage on data analytics capabilities to be more data-driven,” added Hong Tran, vice president of business development at TMA, which has over 20 years of experience in the Vietnamese market, and possesses a team of over 2500 certified engineers.

“This is part of our strategy to offer Vietnamese businesses an innovative approach in utilizing technology to remain competitive and relevant,” remarked Tran.
