Are we ready for the new generation of AI-powered IPAAS?

Rapid shifts in innovations around AI, data integration and analytics are opening up an exciting new generation of ‘Integration Platform as a Service’ (iPaaS). But are business users ready to embrace this new AI-powered IPAAS ecosystem?

According to SnapLogic, a leader in intelligent integration and enterprise automation, the current business landscape is unpredictable, with more pressure than ever on budgets, resources, and employees. Using AI to automate processes and improve productivity is a solution to this problem.

The company recently rolled out SnapLabs, giving early access to cutting-edge solutions including SnapGPT, an innovation enabling business users to accelerate business innovation by automating and integrating data flows at speeds never seen before. Integrations that used to take weeks to deliver can now be generated to achieve rapid results in minutes.

What business users think about AI in the workplace

However, having employee buy-in is a critical component for any successful AI-powered IPAAS rollout. With insight into employee sentiment around AI adoption, digital leaders can most effectively build an AI-inclusive culture to improve productivity and optimize business practices.

“Humans tend to cling onto information and behaviors that they know, which means they often reject new ways of working or adopting new skills,” said Danni Haig, business psychologist. “IT and business leaders should be understanding about AI skepticism and have a clear plan in place to address it, otherwise much-needed change is far less likely to happen.”

Recently, SnapLogic announced new research revealing the attitudes and acceptance towards AI in the workplace, with key findings to inform how businesses can foster a positive company culture while implementing AI tools. Surveying over 1,000 mid-senior management workers within large enterprises across the US, UK, and Australia, nearly two-thirds (66%) of respondents like the idea of using AI in their role, either currently or in the future.

Despite the appetite to embrace AI in the workplace, respondents believe skills are an issue, with one-third (34%) claiming there are very few people within their organization with the skills required to implement and use AI. 39% said it would be hard to get everyone in their organization to fully adopt AI, while 19% are worried that they would not be able to properly navigate using AI.

“The current business landscape is unpredictable, and that puts pressure on budgets and resources. Businesses are adapting to a turbulent environment by using AI in very specific, practical ways to improve productivity,” said Jeremiah Stone, CTO of SnapLogic. “The biggest change is in mindset – seeing AI as a teammate which can learn, not a fixed tool, working to support its more ‘senior’, human colleagues, who in turn mentor and coach it to reduce errors and improve its output.”

“Some employees may have reservations about AI in the workplace, but the reality is that AI is already reshaping the way we work. To stay competitive, businesses successfully adopting AI have an empathic understanding of employees’ reservations and address them constructively.”

Connecting the data dots: who is getting it right?

One organization getting it right is Decision Inc. Australia, a leading independent data and analytics consultancy, which has expanded its offering to clients in the retail, FMCG, manufacturing, supply chain and logistics sectors. They recently partnered with SnapLogic because it empowers organizations like Decision Inc to connect their entire ecosystem of applications, databases, big data, devices and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to create workflows called “Snaps”. This then allows them to connect endpoints to achieve comprehensive insights and drive business results, unencumbered by data silos.

The partnership with Decision Inc. will enable customers to combine SnapLogic’s ability to connect disparate data sources and extract, transform and load data between systems, with Decision Inc.’s ability to leverage the data to provide analytics and business intelligence services.

“With digital driving almost every activity, companies are faced with a veritable deluge of customer data. However, when it’s scattered across systems at multiple levels of the business, it’s about as useful as a chocolate teapot,” said Aiden Heke, CEO, Decision Inc. Australia.

“Through this partnership with SnapLogic, our customers will benefit from a complete and up-to-date data integration and analytics solution. This connective tissue between sources will allow them to make sense of their data and use it to drive real results in a simple yet sophisticated way.”

A retail business, for example, might be held back from improving inventory management and sales as its data is dispersed across multiple systems and in different formats that do not automatically interoperate. SnapLogic’s technology connects these systems, such as the online store and Point Of Sale (POS) system, allowing them to communicate seamlessly while also enabling the extraction of data, transforming it into a common format that is suitable for analysis.

“The SnapLogic solution is scalable, meaning it can grow to accommodate evolving customer needs,” added Heke. “It also gives customers the assurance their data is being managed with the highest levels of compliance.”

Unlocking better business outcomes with AI-powered IPAAS

The power of data and analytics has the ability to shape the world and inform business decisions, said Heke. Speaking at the recent Corinium CDAO event in Sydney, Heke stressed now is the time to leverage data to deliver unparalleled insights, to put businesses on the path of transformation.

“Many organizations sit on troves of data but don’t know how to access it or analyze it to make informed decisions. That data can be hosted in servers, emails, anywhere. But we have the exciting opportunity to maximize the value of that data – and make it easy to interpret and analyze.”
