  • International offerings also bolstered by strong strategic partners & thousands of customers

It’s never been a better time to supply Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to a hungry market place, as cloud-based services see a massive growth in demand.

In fact, the recently-released report from Gartner entitled Market Share: IT Services, Worldwide 2019 found that the global IaaS market grew by a remarkable 222.2 percent last year.

In the same report, Huawei Cloud recorded sharper and faster growth rates than any other cloud service provider, including heavyweights like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, shooting up to become the number three ranked cloud service provider in China and sixth-ranked globally.

2019 was a bumper year for Huawei Cloud, with the Chinese telecommunications and mobility giant’s foray into managed cloud services seeing success in a number of global markets.

Its home market of China is naturally a major contributor, with a range of customers in various fields including utilities, automotive, financial services, internet companies, and even genetics firms.

Huawei Cloud works with international partners to service overseas customers and is now available in 45 areas over 23 global regions, with dedicated cloud data centers in both Asia and the Americas at Singapore, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.

In 2019, the company established strategic partnerships with a multitude of firms and service carriers, including over 10,000 consulting partners that contributed in excess of 60 percent of the total revenue.

Huawei Cloud also has over 2,000 technology partners around the world who have collectively released around 3,500 cloud-based applications, and the company is looking to strengthen its IaaS portfolio further by offering solutions for a variety of needs including containerized hybrid cloud, high-performance batch computing, ultra-high-speed input/output cloud discs, and an All-Connect cloud network solution for cloud-native transformation.

Huawei Cloud itself has launched over 200 cloud services and about 190 cloud-based solutions as of this writing, which includes launching 43 Ascend-powered artificial intelligence (AI) cloud services which will enable corporations to leverage AI computing power in the cloud ecosystem.

The company has overseen several AI-driven solutions such as ModelArts, an AI app development platform; HiLens, a vision-based AI development platform; and DAYU which is a data development and operations platform.

Huawei Cloud has also seen startling growth thanks to its collaborative office solutions which link up enterprise teams, businesses, and IoT platforms via Huawei’s AI-driven productivity platform, WeLink.

Crystal ball-gazing, it looks like Huawei Cloud will continue to tap its full stack of capacities in the cloud, AI, and 5G arenas to provide public cloud and hybrid cloud solutions that will continue to aid Huawei in asserting itself as a contender in levelling the playing field with the other cloud services juggernauts.

Huawei Cloud also said it is committed to advancing the development of applications, AI solutions, and data value in the coming years, focusing on helping customers across multiple industries achieve their digital transformation goals.
